Located in the peaceful neighbourhood of Deep Cove at the north end of the Saanich Peninsula, Pendray House is your idyllic beachfront cottage.

Set against the glittering ocean and nestled in the fir trees on the property, this charming seaside cottage was built in 1948 but has since been renovated to provide guests with all the modern conveniences and style while still retaining the cottage charm.

Perfect for large families looking to spend as much time on the water as possible, this 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom property offers ample sleeping accommodations and room for kids of all ages to enjoy the pristine waters of the Saanich Inlet in peace and privacy.

As you drive to the house youll notice that the property is on a no-through road making it a tranquil spot close to Victoria. The large front yard is an ideal space to play with kids or relax on a sunny day.

As you enter the home, youll notice the beautiful warm, knotted wood floors that run throughout the main floor of the home. The open concept shared living spaces with wood paneled walls, a large, free-standing stone fireplace, built by the original owners in 1948 and comfortable cottage-style furnishings, this home is the epitome of casual seaside comfort.

The living room is furnished with plush sofas, large flat screen TV and integrated HIFI sound system making it the perfect place to relax with a drink at the end of the day, enjoy a fire in the fireplace while you steam your favourite series or listen to some music and watch the sunset from the large, west facing window.

The dining area offers ample seating for large family meals and is the perfect area to enjoy family game night or a bottle of wine with the backdrop of the Saanich Inlet and Cowichan Valley from the panel of windows.

The cottage kitchen is a beautiful space with wood paneled cupboards hung with wrought iron hinges and handles that adds to the heritage country charm of the home. Fitted with bright white, modern appliances, this kitchen is an ideal space to make coffee on a sunny morning or whip up your favourite meal after a day out on the water.

On the main floor of the home you will find the primary queen suite and two more queen sized bedrooms. The primary suite is a soothing space with peaceful lighting and a dedicated ensuite for privacy and convenience. Here you can find a place for rest and relaxation from the rest of the house and wake up every morning feeling rested. The second and third bedrooms are similarly appointed with calming colours, comfortable mattresses and high end linens to ensure that visitors get a good nights sleep, every night. The lovely four piece main floor bathroom boasts a clawfoot tub, separate, walk-in shower, large vanity and ample natural light.

On the lower floor of the home, guests will find two other bedrooms plus a media room ideal for movie nights. The spacious fourth and fifth bedrooms downstairs are furnished with four bunk beds each, plus comfortable sofas - perfect for kids to share and have a space to play. The media room on the lower floor is outfitted with bean bag chairs and a large flat screen to allow for fun movie nights with the entire family! There is no doubt that this home is ideal for large groups with kids!

Outside the home, guests will find beautiful scenery, two patio levels, private beach access and generous seating to comfortably accommodate large groups in the dry months. On the first level of the patio, youll find a long 12 person dining table plus a BBQ, ideal for grilling up your favourite summertime meals and enjoying them with the entire family.

On this same level, guests will find an array of comfortable Adirondack chairs and an umbrella so you can sit out in the hot summer months in the shade, sipping a drink and enjoying the view. On the second, patio level, guests will find a group of chaise lounges, perfect for sunbathing while listening to waves lapping the shore. When its time to go to the beach, you can take the stairs at the back of the house to the shore where youll find a mixture of sand and smooth rocks to lay a blanket, set up paddleboards or beachcomb. The water here is spectacular for swimming in the summertime and when the tide is out, you can find all sorts of marine creatures from starfish to Gooey Ducks. This beach, while not privately owned, has no direct public access points and its likely that during your stay you wont have to share the space with anyone but your group!

Pendray House is conveniently located at the top of the Saanich Peninsula making it the ideal spot to bask in West Coast beauty while still being nearby amenities, attractions and transportation! Just 10 minutes away from the home, youll find the charming seaside town of Sidney where you can find incredible dining, shopping, cafs and amenities like groceries and hardware stores. While you're in Sidney you can visit the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea, take a walk along the lovely seaside trail or visit the marina and see all the boats coming and going from this little harbour town.

Just 15 minutes south and youll be able to visit the world famous Butchart Gardens and another 30 minutes south will take you to the centre of Victoria, BCs capital city. Here you can find lively nightlife, stunning heritage architecture plus incredible restaurants and shopping.

If youre more of an outdoors person, there is incredible hiking and cycling just minutes away from the home! Head to Horth Hill or John Dean Provincial Park to find incredible hiking trails for all skill levels including a hike up to the summit where you can get 360 views of the North Peninsula, Inlet, Salish Sea and Cowichan Valley. If you want to get out there and cycle, the Lochside Trail is a relatively flat, multi-use trail that runs from Swartz Bay all the way to Victoria.

For a day out, try the walk-on ferry shuttle to Sidney Island, part of the Gulf Islands National Park, which features large sandy beaches and great walks to view wildlife there.

There are also golf courses, horseback riding, fishing charters, kayaking, paddle boarding and so much more in the area so no matter what you want to do during your stay, you can find it nearby!

Pendray House is conveniently located 10 minutes away from both the ferry terminal at Swartz Bay and Victoria International Airport, YYJ. The ferries at Swartz Bay service multiple Gulf Islands as well as the mainland and Vancouver and youll find most major airlines connect with YYJ via Vancouver, Seattle, and other points across Canada.
